    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for understanding and managing the daily functions when called upon, scheduled, or as necessity arises with regards to the operation of the Paxit packaging and dispensing automation.
    • Responsible for the packaging of non-automated (bulk) medications.
    • Responsible for adherence to all policies and procedures in relation to Paxit operations and equipment.
    • When required or directed, responsible for the efficient replenishment of the Paxit dispenser.
    • When required or as directed, responsible for monitoring inventory flow throughout shift and make any appropriate adjustments.
    • Responsible to alert management and Paxit operators of any workflow backlogs and operational problems with the inventory, packaging, automation, and replenishment process.
    • Responsible to conduct or assist in the training of new staff.
    • Perform technician assignments as requested by the pharmacy management.
    • Actively contributes to the evaluation and continuous improvement of client services, policies and procedures.
    • Ensures all safety policy and procedures are practiced and adhered.
    • Adheres to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
    • Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations related to pharmacy practices.
    • Participates in special projects to identify and implement operational improvements.
    • Ability to work with and respond to others in a positive productive manner. 
    • Perform other tasks as required and directed.

    Qualifications

    • High School graduate or equivalent required.
    • Current Virginia Pharmacy Technician license required, National Pharmacy Certification preferred.
    • Basic computer knowledge skills required, technology background or PC software courses and the use of automation equipment beneficial, must have basic understanding of medical terminology, math and analytical skills.
    • Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred.  
    • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written, with English as the primary language.
