    Remedi SeniorCare is seeking a highly-qualified QA Analyst to assist with the software quality assurance / quality control efforts for Remedi SeniorCare. Remedi SeniorCare provides pharmacy services and technologies to skilled nursing homes, assisted living facilities and continuing care retirement communities.

    Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience testing web-based (business portal), stand-alone, and client-server applications.  Experience with backend / database testing (via SQL queries), system integration testing and system-to-system messaging is also preferred.  Experience with HL7 and/or NCPDP messaging testing is preferred.  The ideal candidate will also have a background in Healthcare and EMR/EHR integration verification.  This is primarily a manual testing position within an agile methodology environment.  Automation experience will be a huge bonus and good experience around this is preferred.

     

    We utilize the latest technologies from Microsoft for our application framework and database technologies.  Our applications are both thick-client and web-based.  Our messaging standards use the HL7 and NCPDP protocols which are used to transfer ADT and medication order information between our products and integrated 3rd-party systems

     

    Summary of Functions & Responsibilities

    • Works closely with members of the QA, Development and Business Analysis teams throughout the software development process.
    • Interfaces with customers/users/domain experts. Strives for establishing a high-level of trust & credibility with these people and recognizes that our products must bring value to them.  Strives to perfect the communication skills necessary to best achieve this goal.
    • Creates level of effort estimates and regularly provides metrics enabling management to track current QA status and estimates to completion.
    • Interprets and gains an understanding of the system requirements / user stories provided for new and existing applications.
    • Writes test plans, test scenarios and detailed test cases/scripts to verify successful implementation of system requirements/user stories.
    • Reviews existing test cases and performs maintenance/updates as needed.
    • Follows IT and QA processes, standards and procedures.
    • Identifies issue trends, adjusts test plans accordingly, and effectively communicates changes to team members and other stakeholders.
    • Reviews product documentation related to features to verify that the product documentation accurately reflects current product functionality in production environment.
    • Provides production support for issues reported by the user community. Attempts to reproduce and troubleshoot these issues and logs any verified issues in the defect-tracking system.
    • Validates successful integration between all core pharmacy systems.
    • Assists in design of QA process documentation and quick reference guides.
    • Provides support and mentorship for entry-level QA resources.
    • Participates in the test automation efforts (training provided) using Remedi’s custom test automation framework.
    • Participates in process improvement efforts.
    • Regularly updates status of assigned tasks in project management tool.
    • Identifies issue trends, adjusts test plans accordingly, and effectively communicates changes to team members and other stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    • BS in computer science and 2 years of QA experience or 4+ years of formal QA experience.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience with the following types of testing: Functional, Functional Regression, Defect Regression, Integration, Ad-Hoc/Exploratory, Black/White/Grey Box, Smoke/Sanity.
    • Experience providing support to end-users during user acceptance testing is a plus.
    • Ability to work closely with key stakeholders to identify/report problems and propose solutions.
    • Experience with relational data models and ability to write/execute SQL queries and analyze results is required.
    • Experience analyzing use cases & user stories to design effective test cases and associated test data.
    • Experience with industry-standard test management and defect-tracking tools.
    • Ability to perform preliminary troubleshooting activities for new bugs to aid in identification of root cause.
    • Ability to track test coverage and report testing status & metrics.
    • Ability to learn/understand complex systems.
    • Excellent analytical skills and detail-oriented.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Good interpersonal and team development skills.
    • Able to work on multiple projects while staying focused and delivering results.
    • Experience with Agile development methodology is a plus.
    • Experience with commonly-used automated testing tools is a plus.
    • Coding/scripting experience is a plus.
    • Experience testing document management tools is a plus.
    • Experience working with virtualized environments is a plus.
    • Knowledge of and operational experience in a health care related field a plus.
    • Experience with Target Process Agile project management software is a plus.
    • Test automation experience is a plus.
