  • Overview

    The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing general accounting responsibilities, including the completion of journal entries, preparation of account reconciliations, monthly close procedures, analysis of financial activity, preparation of financial schedules and identification of process improvement opportunities. Other responsibilities will include completion of ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare various monthly journal entries in areas such as revenue/accounts receivable, inventory/cost of goods sold, cash related transactions, expense accruals, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, payroll, etc.
    • Assist with the completion of the monthly close process, including expense review and analysis.
    • Prepare monthly account reconciliations, including resolution of any identified discrepancies/reconciling items.
    • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements.
    • Daily Cash Management – distribute daily cash activity information, maintain the daily cash reporting model, track cash receipts, reconcile bank activity and research cash transactions.
    • Assist with the initiation and release of wire and ACH funds transfers.
    • Assist the Accounting team with maintaining the general ledger.
    • Analyze financial activity and create financial schedules/reports as needed.
    • Identify and assist with process improvements in the accounting department.
    • Completion of ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed.

    Qualifications

    Education/Certifications:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

     

    Experience:

    0-3 years of accounting experience.

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills

    Working knowledge of general accounting procedures
