  • Overview

    Responsible for maintaining and operating production equipment to optimize availability, quality and speed inclusive of both mechanical and electrical subsystems. 

     

    Work closely with Electro Mechanics, Operations Manager and Production Supervisors to help guide efficient operation of the Dispensing Systems.

     

    Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical equipment, conveyors, PLCs, robots, vision systems and computer controlled devices,

     

    Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting production issues while minimizing downtime.  Effectively communicate requirements and status to production operations team. 

     

    Work independently to perform preventative maintenance following written schedules and procedures. 

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities will include maintenance of production equipment:

     

    1. Maintain and/or improve system performance to design specifications.
    1. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on dispensing and unit dose packaging equipment within priorities and on time.
    2. Where authorized, operate Dispensing and Packaging systems in support of the fulfillment Operations Technicians, to ensure that the Systems are operated as designed and runs are completed on time.
    1. Troubleshoot system issues and take corrective actions independently, while minimizing production downtime.  Highlight system issues for permanent corrective actions and process improvements.
    1. Requisition repair materials, machine components and parts. Maintain and organize spare parts inventory.
    1. Responsible for assembly and testing of various mechanical devices and complete systems according to blueprints, written or verbal specifications with minimal supervision.  Documentation and/ or specifications may be ambiguous.
    1. Define training and preventive maintenance programs to optimize and maintain equipment.
    2. Use of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, calibrations and spare parts.
      1. Monitor spare part usage
      2. Order spare parts to ensure proper inventory levels
    3. Training
      1. Train production operators/ employees/EM’s as appropriate for set-ups, operation of all equipment, etc.
      2. Review and provide constructive feedback for shift passdowns and completed work orders.
    4. Normal work schedule is Day shift Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekend support will be required for project implementation and issue resolution.  Supervising Engineer will also be one of the employees in the Paxit support on-call rotation with primary on-call support responsibilities for one week every 4-6 weeks
    5. Provide scheduling and coordinate coverage for Electro Mechanic vacations
    6. Responsible for safety compliance personally and with equipment.
    7. Coordinates and participates in special projects and/or rebuilds.
    8. Liaison between Remedi and outside contractors for HVAC, Generator and Air Compressor systems.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Packaging Engineering, or related Engineering field (Chemical, etc.)

    3-6 years of electro-mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment

    Proficient in use of power tools/ measuring devices

    Basic background in general machine shop practices and experience with 220V power

    Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written with English as the primary language.  \Must have exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead, strong problem solving abilities, and a strong customer service focus.
